2019年度ヤング・プリントメーカー賞受賞者

CWAJ established the Young Printmaker Award in 2005 as part of the 50th Print Show celebration to encourage the development of young artists. Eligible applicants are the artists selected at the Annual Exhibition of the Japan Society of Printmaking. Selected on the criteria of a project proposal, artistic potential and creativity, the recipient is expected to use the cash award of 500,000 yen within one year for a specific project.
In addition, the recipient has an opportunity to exhibit the award print at the CWAJ Print Show and is also allowed to exhibit a new print three years after receiving the Award. To our great pleasure, many of the past YPA recipients are flourishing in the printmaking world.
CWAJ現代版画展が50周年を迎えた2005年に、版画界への謝意と未 来を担う若い版画家への期待をこめて、ヤング・プリントメーカー賞を創設 しました。応募資格があるのは、版画学会主催の全国大学版画展の前 年度優秀賞受賞者です。受賞作を含めた数点の作品と賞金活用の企 画案をもとに、将来性と独創性に重点を置いて審査し、毎年1名に賞金 50万円を授与しています。
受賞者には賞金に加えて、その年のCWAJ現代版画展で受賞作品を展 示し、さらに3年後の版画展でも新作を発表する機会が与えられます。これまでの受賞者の多くが、新進版画家として着実に歩を進めています。

Print 305 – The mountain
Receiving the YPA Award in my last year of graduate school allowed me to purchase the tools and art materials I needed after completing my studies. The opportunity to exhibit my work again three years later encouraged me to continue creating my work.
I continue to work on the theme of events that I have learned about in the news and reports, as well as incidents and accidents that have happened around me. When I find multifaceted events that cannot be simply categorized as good or bad in human activities, I am inspired to paint them. I would like to continue to work with the same enthusiasm in the future.

大学院を修了する年にYPA賞を受賞したことで、修了後に必要 な道具や画材を購入することができました。そして、3年後にまた 作品を展示できる機会を頂けたことは制作を続ける上で大変励 みになりました。 ニュースや報道で知った出来事、身の周りで起きた事件や事故 などをテーマに制作を続けています。人の営みの中に良い・悪い で分けることができない多面性のある出来事を見つけると描きたい 気持ちが湧いてきます。今後も変わらぬ意欲をもって制作活動を 続けていきたいです。
