GREETINGS

On behalf of the College Women’s Association of Japan (CWAJ) and our members, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 68th CWAJ Print Show.

Since its inception in 1956, the CWAJ Print Show has been held annually, introducing the rich and diverse world of Japanese contemporary prints to audiences in Japan and abroad. This year, we return for the seventh time to Hillside Forum in Daikanyama, where we will exhibit and sell works by 208 artists—ranging from established masters to emerging talents—showcasing a wide variety of printmaking techniques and styles. The exhibition features 152 prints selected through open submission and 56 invited works. Following the in-person show, all exhibited works will continue to be available for viewing and purchase through this Online Gallery, which has become increasingly popular with collectors worldwide.

Our much-anticipated Special Exhibition this year is themed “Amazing Fuji!,” celebrating Japan’s beloved spiritual symbol. Presented at both the Frederick Harris Gallery of the Tokyo American Club and the Daikanyama venue, the show features works by six renowned artists from past and present, each offering a unique vision of Mt. Fuji. In addition, the Legacy Artists Exhibition presents rare prints incorporating calligraphy by SHINODA Toko and AKIYAMA Iwao. As the displays differ between venues, we encourage you to visit both.

We are also pleased to announce the third CWAJ Print Show to be held at Highfield Hall & Gardens in Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA, from June 21 to October 26.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Young Printmaker Award, given to outstanding printmaking students, and the 4th year of the Loro Piana Woman Artist Award, established to encourage and support female printmakers.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the exhibiting artists, financial supporters, selection advisors, Highfield Hall & Gardens, and CWAJ volunteers who made this event possible. Your contributions are invaluable, and your commitment to art and education is deeply appreciated.

第68回CWAJ現代版画展に皆様をお迎えできますことを、たいへん嬉しく存じます。

CWAJ現代版画展は1956年以来毎年開催され、国内外の皆様に緻密で創造性あふれる日本の現代版画の魅力を広く紹介してまいりました。今年で7年目を迎えた代官山のヒルサイドフォーラムを会場に、著名な大家から新進気鋭の若手まで208名による多種多彩な技法とスタイルの版画作品（公募作品152点、招待作品56点）を展示・販売いたします。また会場展示終了後には、海外のコレクターにも大好評のオンライン・ギャラリーで全作品を引き続きご鑑賞・ご購入いただけます。

斬新な企画で毎年人気を集める特別展ですが、今年は趣向を変え、日本人の心のふるさとでありインスピレーションの源泉でもある、あの富士山をテーマに選びました。「アメージング富士山！」と題し、東京アメリカンクラブのフレデリック・ハリス・ギャラリーと代官山会場にて、古今の巨匠６名によるさまざまな表情の富士の版画をご覧いただきます。同時にレガシーアーティスト展として、篠田桃紅と秋山巌の書をあしらった貴重な版画も展示・販売いたします。展示作品が異なりますので、ぜひ両会場にお出かけください。

また米国マサチューセッツ州ファルマスの美しい会員制クラブ、ハイフィールドホール＆ガーデンズでは、今年６月21日から10月26日まで、通算３回目となるCWAJ版画展を開催しております。

版画を学ぶ学生を対象としたCWAJヤング・プリントメーカー賞は今年で21年目、女性版画作家の活躍を支援するCWAJロロ・ピアーナ女性アーティスト奨励賞は４年目を迎えました。

出品作家、支援者の皆様、セレクションアドバイザーの方々、ハイフィールドホール＆ガーデンズ、その他ご協力いただきましたすべての皆様に厚く御礼申し上げます。当版画展は、一年を通じて骨身を惜しまず働くボランティア会員の努力によって支えられております。その会員たちにもこの場を借りて謝意を表します。今年も日本現代版画の多様性を心ゆくまでお楽しみください。これを機に多くの方々に版画の世界に関心を持っていただくとともに、CWAJの活動へのご理解をいただければ幸いに存じます。

“Amazing Fuji!”

This year’s annual Special Exhibition features prints inspired by Mount Fuji. Revered since ancient times as a sacred peak, Mount Fuji has long been an object of spiritual devotion and artistic inspiration for the Japanese people. Recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 2013, it has, in recent years, become increasingly beloved by people around the world.

The exhibition showcases powerful depictions of Mount Fuji by renowned artists who have deep ties with CWAJ and have made lasting contributions to the world of Japanese printmaking, including HAGIWARA Hideo, AKIYAMA Iwao, YOKOO Tadanori, MORIMURA Ray, KAWADA Kan and SUGIYAMA Osamu.
