On behalf of the College Women’s Association of Japan (CWAJ) and our members, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 69th CWAJ Print Show.
Since its inception in 1956, the CWAJ Print Show has been held annually, introducing the rich and diverse world of Japanese contemporary prints to audiences in Japan and abroad. This year, we return for the eighth time to Hillside Forum in Daikanyama, where we will exhibit and sell works by 200 artists—ranging from established masters to emerging talents—showcasing a wide variety of printmaking techniques and styles.
This prestigious juried exhibition and sale offers a wide range of styles, from traditional to abstract to pop, as well as a variety of mediums including woodcut, etching, engraving, lithography, collagraph, silkscreen and digital print. From classic woodblock prints to cutting-edge contemporary art, the CWAJ Print Show is a unique opportunity to explore and purchase a wide range of stunning prints all in one place.
Following the in-person show, all exhibited works will continue to be available for viewing and purchase through this Online Gallery website, which has become increasingly popular with collectors worldwide.
Our much-anticipated Associate Show this year is titled “Yoo Koo Soo to Yokoo Tadanori’s HANGA Universe.” Yokoo Tadanori, one of Japan’s most celebrated contemporary artists, has redefined the landscape of modern art continually since the 1960s. Do not miss this exceptional opportunity to experience —and acquire—such an extensive collection of Yokoo’s original prints in one place. Yokoo has generously supported the CWAJ Print Show by contributing his works for over 50 years. We invite you to immerse yourself in the vibrant, imaginative world of Yokoo Tadanori’s HANGA.
Presented at both the Daikanyama venue and the Frederick Harris Gallery of the Tokyo American Club, this special show presents 38 carefully selected prints from across Yokoo Tadanori’s remarkable career, 35 of which are for sale.
This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the Young Printmaker Award, given to outstanding printmaking students, and the 5th year of the Loro Piana Woman Artist Award, established to encourage and support female printmakers.

YOKOO TADANORI
For more than six decades, Yokoo Tadanori (b. 1936) has been a central figure in Japanese contemporary art. Working across graphic design, painting, printmaking, and literature, he has profoundly shaped Japan’ s visual culture. Rising to prominence as a graphic designer in the 1960s, Yokoo challenged the conventional boundaries between commercial design and fine art through a richly layered visual language that fused Pop Art, psychedelia, profound spiritual imagery, ukiyo-e, and vernacular folk culture. His works, animated by an ever-shifting interplay of symbols and quotations, are in a constant state of transformation, never settling into a single style.
横尾 忠則
今年90歳を迎えた横尾忠則は、日本の現代美術を代表する美術家として、デザイン、絵画、版画、文学のジャンルを軽やかに越境しながら、60年以上にわたって日本のアートシーンを牽引し続けている。1960年代にグラフィック・デザイナーとして脚光を浴びた横尾は、その後ポップアート、サイケデリックから深遠な精神世界や浮世絵、土俗までを混ぜ込んだ豊饒なイメージで、商業デザインとファインアートのあいだの境界線に揺さぶりをかけてきた。幾重にも重なる象徴と引用を自在にあやつる作品はつぎつぎと変化して、とどまることがない。
